We would like to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, and our heartfelt sympathies to those in the affected areas, as well as to our current students and their families who are from the affected areas.
We would like to inform you about "Ⅰ. Osaka Sangyo University Disaster Relief Fund," which includes tuition fees for current students whose parents or other financial providers have been affected by the disaster and who live in areas to which the Disaster Relief Act applies.
In addition, in the hope of being of some help, however small, the Alumni Association has decided to send "II. Osaka Sangyo University Alumni Association Disaster Relief Fund" to the Alumni Association members (parents) affected by the disaster, in accordance with the Alumni Association Condolence and Disaster Relief Regulations.
Therefore, please apply according to the attached guidelines.
In addition, we have provided detailed links regarding the application process for the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)'s "III. Grant-type Scholarships (in the event of a sudden change in household income) / Loan-type Scholarships (emergency and emergency grants)" and "IV. JASSO Disaster Relief Funds (no repayment required)." Please refer to these links for more information.

Current students whose parents or guardians (hereinafter referred to as "student financial payers") live in areas to which the Disaster Relief Act applies and who have been affected by a disaster.
Scope of the disaster that will be covered by the [2024 First Semester Tuition Exemption + Consolation Payment (50,000 yen)]
1. The person who paid for tuition fees dies
② The house in which the person paying for tuition is living is completely destroyed, burned down, or flooded above the floor level.
3) If the person who pays for tuition fees is self-employed, the factory, store, etc. they own is completely destroyed, burned down, or flooded above the floor level.
4) If the person paying for tuition fees is an agricultural worker, severe damage to the fields and crops they own.
⑤Other cases where damage equivalent to the above is recognized.
Scope of the disaster that will be covered by the half-price tuition exemption for the first semester of the 2024 academic year + condolence money (25,000 yen)
① The house in which the person paying for tuition is living is partially destroyed, partially burned, and flooded under the floor
② If the person who pays for tuition fees is self-employed, the factory, store, etc. they own is partially destroyed, partially burned, or has water under the floor.
3) Any other damage equivalent to the above is recognized.
Scope of the damage covered by the [Consolation Payment (10,000 yen)]
① The house inhabited by the person who pays for tuition fees was partially destroyed and partially burned.
② If the person who pays for tuition fees is self-employed, the factory, store, etc. that he or she owns is partially damaged or partially burned down.
3) Any other damage equivalent to the above is recognized.
*If any of the above applies to you, we will issue you a new tuition payment slip with a reduced amount.
Depending on when you apply, the tuition payment slip may be issued after April 20th, which is the tuition payment deadline. Please apply for a deferred payment at Academic Affairs Division.
As a general rule, those who are eligible for the "other tuition fee reduction measures" and the "new support system for higher education" stipulated in the university's regulations will be exempt from the reduced tuition fee. In addition, the supported tuition fee does not include the educational environment improvement fee and various membership fees, which must be paid.

*Please attach a copy of the Disaster Victim Certificate (issued by the prefecture or city/town/village) from an area covered by the Disaster Relief Act and submit it to Student Support Division by March 31, 2024.
◎If you are having difficulty submitting your application within the deadline, please contact Student Support Division as we will continue to accommodate your request after April 1, 2024.

The condolence money will be transferred to the designated account by the end of April.
For tuition exemptions, a payment slip for the exempted amount will be sent to you after you apply as described above.
However, those who are eligible for the new higher education support system will receive a payment slip for the exemption amount once their eligibility has been certified (around the end of May).
Osaka Sangyo University Support Association will provide disaster relief funds to students or those whose homes, etc., in which they live, or those responsible for paying tuition fees, have been affected by disasters. Please submit the following documents along with Osaka Sangyo University Disaster Relief Fund.

Students, their breadwinners, and international students who live in a home that has been damaged by a natural disaster or other disaster and is partially or completely destroyed, or flooded above the floor level, can apply for JASSO disaster support funds (100,000 yen) (no repayment required).
*Even if you are receiving a JASSO scholarship or financial support from another organization, you can still apply.
