Nuisance parking is subject to disciplinary action.
Our university has completely banned students from commuting to the university by car since October 1973. The reasons for this ban on students commuting to the university by car are as follows:
- The university does not have enough space to provide parking for students who commute by car, and so they are prohibited from entering the campus. In addition, commuting to school by public transportation or shuttle buses is not at all inconvenient.
- The university has seriously disrupted the lives of local residents and the environment of nearby commercial facilities through illegal and nuisance parking and traffic and business obstruction, causing serious disruption to civic life and business activities. This has led to a loss of trust in the university from local residents and nearby commercial facilities, and the university has failed to fulfill its social responsibilities.
- There have been many traffic accidents involving students, some of which have resulted in deaths, causing students to have their dreams for the future cut short.
- Noise and other issues are interfering with education and research.
Please understand the purpose of the complete ban on commuting to school by car and, as members of the university, you must bear in mind that you have a responsibility not to cause trouble to local residents and nearby commercial facilities, and that you must "never commute to school by car" in order to protect yourself from traffic accidents.
Maintaining social order and complying with laws and regulations!
A university is also a member of society, and naturally, students have social responsibilities. Therefore, as members of the university, we must act responsibly to maintain social order and comply with laws and regulations.
Although our university is conducting awareness-raising activities and raising awareness of these issues, in recent years there has been a sharp increase in complaints from local residents and commercial facilities about illegal and nuisance parking by students, and unauthorized parking on campus has also been observed frequently, so the university has reached a point where it can no longer ignore the situation.
For this reason, undergraduate and Osaka Sangyo University Graduate School students who park illegally or in a nuisance, or who park without permission on campus, will be subject to disciplinary action such as a warning, suspension, or expulsion in accordance with university regulations.
However, due to the circumstances below (note), commuting by car will only be permitted if you submit an "Application for Campus Entry Permission and supporting documents" to the "Student Support Division" in advance and Student Affairs Department determines that the use of a car is necessary.
(Note 1) If you have a disability certificate or other such certificate and have difficulty commuting to school by means other than a car (present your certificate or other such certificate)
(Note 2) If commuting to school by means other than a car is difficult due to illness or injury (submit a doctor's certificate, etc.)
(Note 3) When it is difficult to transport equipment or tools for extracurricular activities by means of a vehicle other than a car (submit a statement of reasons)
(Note 4) If it is determined that use of a car is necessary for reasons other than those mentioned above (submission of a statement of reasons)
